nazanin + miguel // married!

August 6, 2010

Nazanin and Miguel’s wedding was an experience for us in many ways.

Have you seen ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding?’ Do you remember how overwhelmed Ian’s family was when meeting Toula’s for the first time? The loud voices, exclamations, and sheer mass amount of people? It was the same for us when meeting Nazanin and Miguel’s families. Except, multiplied by, like, 10 times.

Everyone had such dynamic, colorful, flamboyant and engaging personalities. It was incredible. I (Amanda) have never been kissed by so many strangers in my life.

Usually, when guests see us coming, they will dive out of the way. Tonite, no one dodged the camera.  Instead, it was all smiles.

The ceremony was a little chaotic. It was our first Iranian/Persian/Mexican wedding, and since most of the ceremony was in Farsi, we were a little clueless as to what was going on. But we managed to keep up.

Best dancing we have EVER seen! Hands down. Complete with (are you ready for this?) a belly dancer and fire dancers.

When you combine all of this with the Mediterranean food that is now my favorite, it was an insane night….
